Kite-shaped and pointed at the base, each stud is filled with a milky white inlay and framed in soft silver. Below it hangs a round pearl bead that sits just under the lobe. White on white, with only a thin silver line between them, they look calm and well kept.
On Uttarayan the whole of Ahmedabad is up on the terraces, and the sky is full of paper kites. These are the quiet version, for the cousin who holds the firki all afternoon while everyone else cuts the kites and takes the glory.
