About this pieceStory, details and how to wear it
Trunk held high, the way it is painted over doorways for luck, the little elephant stands side-on across the lobe. One black stone for an eye. Across its back lies a blanket of baguette-cut stones in neat rows, like the cloth a temple elephant wears, and its four small feet are round white stones.
They say an elephant never forgets, and neither does the friend from school who still sends a voice note at midnight on your birthday, twenty years running. Return the favour on hers.
