Red enamel, glossy as fresh glaze, runs over the top of each stud in rounded drips. Below it the berry is set with tiny white stones like a coat of sugar, and on top sit one small berry-pink stone and two white ones, the way a baker finishes a cake.
They are playful, and they know it. Wear them on the drive up to Mahabaleshwar in strawberry season, or give a pair to the sister who shared the punnet with you on the way down and still says you ate more.
